This Subscription Service Sends You Beautiful Versions of The Books Everyone Should Own

Thatcher Wine has a job any book nerd could only dream of: He curates libraries. And he doesn’t only make the book selections; Juniper Books, the company he founded, specializes in producing beautiful versions of books to pair with any interior. He’s a go-to resource for decorators looking to outfit libraries for their projects, and some of his better-known clients include Gwyneth Paltrow (whose use of his services spurred a rather lively debate about the concept of “curating” books at all, but I digress…).

Now, Thatcher is lending his expertise to a new task: ensuring every home is well-stocked with the greats of literature. In a new service that debuted today, Juniper Books will offer its first-ever monthly subscription service, aimed at filling out your home library.

Appropriately dubbed the BESO Collection (that’s short for “books everyone should own”), the set consists of 12 volumes covered in beautiful metallic patterns inspired by Victorian books. For $50 per month, you’ll receive a copy of each of the following, bound in covers so pretty, you may need to undertake a whole bookshelf overhaul:

  • The Odyssey
  • Crime and Punishment
  • Anna Karenina
  • Oliver Twist
  • Moby Dick
  • Wuthering Heights
  • Pride and Prejudice
  • Jane Eyre
  • Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn
  • Don Quixote
  • Les Miserables
  • The Three Musketeers

Already read some of these? The new volumes would make a perfect gift. Plus, you can never have too many books, right? As Thatcher says, “our books–the ones we choose to keep–tell a story of who we are. Whether the books are in our hands or on our shelves, their covers open or shut, they keep on telling stories… and so should we.”
