An online scholarship programme that provides financial assistance to the tune of Rs50,000 has been started by the Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI). The scholarship will be given to students on clearing an examination.
Executive members of the BFGI, during a press conference at the Bathinda Press Club on Monday, said the main objective of the test was to provide financial help to talented and brilliant students who could not perform well in annual examinations and could not earn the BFGI scholarship. Now, all of them could get scholarships through this test from July 1 to 15.
Pardeep Kaura, deputy director (academics), said “Scholarships are given on the basis of scores received in annual examinations, but it was observed that many talented and brilliant students could not earn BFGI scholarships because they did not get good grades. So, the BFGI has taken this initiative for such students. They are being given a golden opportunity to avail scholarships up to Rs 50,000 through the new programme.”
Kaura said the test would be of 30 minutes in which there would be 30 questions. There is no fee and the examination can be taken from home and even on a mobile phone. But a student can give take the test only once. The examination is open to students from various states of the country and for international students, of countries such as Nepal, as well. The scholarship test will be available 24×7 on BFGI website —www.babafaridgroup.com. The result would be uploaded immediately on the completion of the test. On taking a printout of the result, students can apply for the scholarship, he added.
