A nine-year-old girl has died after a horse-riding accident believed to have happened while she was riding with a hunt.
The child, who has not yet been named, is understood to have been riding with The Cotswold Hunt when she suffered serious injuries on Saturday morning.
Paramedics were called to a farm in Miserden, near Stroud, Gloucestershire, and she was airlifted to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where she died later.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.
They added that the girl had been “taking part in an organised event when she was involved in an incident involving a horse”.
Chris Adams, joint master of the hunt, told ITV on Saturday that there had been “an accident” that morning and that a young girl had been taken to hospital.
He added: “The Cotswold Hunt’s thoughts are with her family.”
